Customer activity summary—how it works
When you get a phone call from a customer, you need quick access to whatever your customer might need, such as the amount owed on a recent invoice. QuickBooks Online makes accessing, editing, and storing customer information incredibly easy using the Customer Summary.
Viewing the Customer Summary
The Customer Summary gives you the following types of information:
- Balance: how much do they owe you?
- Contact Information: what is the best way to get in contact with your customer? You can click directly on their email link to compose an email from your regular email application.
- Recent Invoices: when were they last billed, and for what amounts?
- Recent Payments: when you were paid, and against what invoices?
- Unbilled Charges: open customer charges.
In addition, from the Customer Summary you can set up recurring charges and sales receipts. You can also access reports tailored to a specific customer.
